The subject is labor arts—visual art about work and workers, and art by working people. Labor arts can include photographs, posters, buttons, banners and flyers, as well as
paintings, sculpture, and other fine art by or about working people.
Open to CUNY undergraduates • Entries due March 1, 2013
Works judged according to originality, content, and style.
Think Visually!
Students submitting written work will include an image related to the themes in their writing.
Students submitting visual artwork will include a brief paragraph explaining how their work shares the Labor Arts spirit.
Prizes for each category:
First: $1,000; Second: $500; Third: $250
Five Honorable Mentions per category @
$100 each.
