“Let’s Face It” – a nationwide mask design competition – Now Open!
The deadline to enter is May 31, 2020.
Juried by Marcel Wilson, the Founder and Design Director of Bionic, and JoAnn Edwards, the Museum of Craft and Design’s Co-founder and Executive Director, the winning design will receive $500, the runner-up will receive $250 and third place will receive $100. Additional non-monetary awards will be given for Best in Show, Best Student Design, and Most Unique Design.
Participation is free. All entries will be displayed on the Museum of Craft and Design’s website in a community gallery beginning Friday, June 12, 2020. Additionally, for each design entered, the Museum of Craft and Design will donate a new mask to the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank.
AIGA Early Career Mentorship Program
Each year, AIGA NY connects a select group of professionals from the design industry and allied fields with individuals who are starting off in their careers to help them accelerate their career, personal and leadership growth. The program is free and open to both AIGA and non-AIGA members.
Interested in joining the 2020 cohort as a mentee?
Deadline is Feb 24 (Enrollment may close earlier once we have a full cohort signed up).
Kick-off gathering on March 3.

UI/UX Designer

Peach Street is a fintech startup looking to redefine the homeownership experience – starting with how you pay your mortgage. We are a small team of engineers from Google, Facebook, Instagram, and Twilio who are using technology to improve the mortgage servicing experience for both homeowners and lenders. After raising a seed round from large venture and strategic investors, we’ve built our initial product and are about to close another round to accelerate our growth. We are looking for the first in-house UI/UX designer to work with Product and Engineering on a slick user experience to help homeowners understand and pay their mortgages.
Our design stack includes Sketch and Zeplin.
Responsibilities
● Work with Product to deliver high fidelity product UI mockups from defined Critical User Journeys
● Develop mocks for use by Front-End Engineers on mobile web, iOS and Android.
● Determine the usability of new and existing product flows and make actionable suggestions for improvement
Ideal Background
● 3+ years of product design experience building UI mocks or in UX optimization capacity.
● Strong communicator. Able to work cross-functionally to balance product and technical requirements.
● Experience with one or both of the following: web application design, mobile application design.
● Experience in a fast paced startup environment and know how to maximize the impact of your time.
