AIGA Worldstudio scholarships benefit minority and economically disadvantaged students who are studying photography, illustration, and design disciplines in colleges and universities in the United States. Scholarships are awarded to encourage social and environmental responsibility and cultural awareness in the next generation of artists and designers.

Application period and notification

The application for the 2019–2020 academic school year is now open. Keep an eye on this page or follow @AIGAdesign for updates.

Eligibility

Download and read the application instructions in advance of the deadline. This packet is your go-to guide and contains all you need to know about eligibility, the application and portfolio requirements, selection and notification process, required financial documentation, and more.

About the AIGA Worldstudio scholarship

Our primary aims are to increase diversity in the creative professions, and to foster social and environmental responsibility in the artists, designers, and studios of tomorrow. Scholarship recipients are selected not only for their talent and their need, but also for their demonstrated commitment to giving back to the larger community through their work. Each award is paid directly to the recipient’s school and applied toward tuition.
Since its inception in 1995, AIGA Worldstudio scholarships has awarded more than one million dollars to 700+ minority and economically disadvantaged college students of art and design.

We will explore the role portfolios play in a successful design career now and in the future and will ask, are traditional portfolios still relevant? If so, what does a successful portfolio look like and what kind of projects should be included?

Federal Work-Study graphic design job / on-campus with CERRU

Do you have Federal Work Study?
If you do, CERRU is hiring!
Graphic Designer: This person will be responsible for creating our flyers, programs, posters, and brochure.
Campus Outreach (multiple positions): This position includes fliering for events, tabling at different locations on campus, assisting with social media, being in contact with the clubs on campus, taking care of event sign-in, and event marketing. One person will also work on data collection.

February 8th: 2018 AIGA Design Job Fair for students and recent grads


Are you a design student or a newly minted graduate? Join us for AIGA/NY’s 2nd annual mini-job fair! Its speed networking meets the design industry not another portfolio review. Come by and introduce yourself. Meet reps. from New York’s top creative organizations, companies, agencies and studios and learn about the advantages of working at their company. Ask what a typical day is like for their designers, find out about all the office perks and hear what their creative directors look for when they hire new talent.
