We have a new part-time position open at CUNY Citizenship Now! We are looking for a part-time graphic designer. Please see requirements below:
Location: CUNY Citizenship Now!’s Central Administrative Office, 101 W. 31st Street, New York, NY 10001
Hours: 19 hours per week during regular business hours (Monday– Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
Compensation: $20/ hour
Job Description: CUNY Citizenship Now! is looking for a creative individual to support the communications team by developing digital and print jobs. The graphic designer will be able to take direction, be self-motivated, have strong organization skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support production of legal office documents for use in provision of services to immigrants including forms, fact sheets, screening tools and checklists.
- Interact with other units and vendors to see a project through to completion and ensure jobs are delivered/published on time.
- Collaborate with other staff members to produce brochures, flyers, booklets, handouts, presentations, posters, signs, giveaways and training materials.
- Produce materials (both copy and visuals) for social media.
- Assist in creation of emails using ConstantContact.
- Work with legal staff and other units to ensure internal and external documents remain up-to-date.
- Contribute to work of communications department as needed.
- Other duties as required by position.
Core Competencies and Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Graphic Design or closely related field.
- Working experience with Adobe Create Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop).
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS and video editing a plus.
- Working experience with Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.
- Knowledge of print production and of best practices in creating digital files for print and web.
- Familiarity with mail marketing services such as ConstantContact.
- Demonstrates creativity and attention to detail from concept to final production.
- Ability to manage shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated with an interest in immigration issues.
- Strong writing skills a plus.
- Familiarity with Quark Express a plus.
