The Hearst Design Group, which consists of ELLE DECOR, HOUSE BEAUTIFUL, VERANDA, and METROPOLITAN HOME, seeks a talented and enthusiastic junior designer for a graphic design opportunity in our marketing team. The ideal candidate has proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, a can-do attitude, possesses strong design, layout, and communication skills, and can multi-task in a fast-paced environment. The junior designer’s role will be to design and assist with a wide variety of projects related to the daily workflow of our magazines. This position is approximately 85% design, 15% administrative.Responsibilities
- Design inbook promotion pages and manage scheduling of assets with sales staff
- Design custom comps
- Develop event collateral including logos, eblasts, and invites
- Maintain monthly esignatures
- Provide general support to marketing staff.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
- Fast learner with strong design and layout skills
- Undergrad degree in graphic design or intern experience in graphic design
- Organized multi-tasker able to meet tight deadlines
- Adept at creating physical comps and mock-ups
- Microsoft Excel, Keynote, PowerPoint experience a plus
