Graphic Design Eileen Fisher Summer Internship (paid)

The EILEEN FISHER Internship Program cultivates the professional and personal development of our interns through meaningful immersion in our organization and culture. Interns gain valuable knowledge and hands-on work experience, while developing useful skills, building their resumes, and expanding their professional networks.The program runs from June 5th through August 11th.
Position Summary:
Assist in design and production of website, social media, and email assets for wholesale, retail and web.
Learning Goals:
Learn skills related to graphic design in an ecommerce setting including elements of website design, print for advertising and print for in-store.
Increase exposure to and skill level in adobe suite i.e. Photoshop, inDesign, and Illustrator.
Learn all the steps and processes that bring together a monthly website and supporting print pieces from integrating web merchandising, photography, and print production
Learn to work with and support a design team, and share creative ideas with the team
Learn corporate communication skills both verbally and written.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Print production of seasonal post-cards, mailers, and other print pieces. Work in InDesign to create files, layouts, and type.
Web production for some layout of anchors, home pages, email and social media images. Use mainly Photoshop for cropping, resizing, color-correcting, and balancing backgrounds.
Assist in preparation of files for monthly site launch

Requirements

Required Experience:
Motivated communicator and a team player. Standard graphic design skills in layout and typography. Experience working in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
Retouching skills a plus. Basic HTML + CSS knowledge a plus
Have a basic understanding of web design and an interest in fashion e-commerce
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Education:
Graphic Design/Digital Design major (must be currently enrolled student). Concentration/coursework in Digital Media a plus.
