From the Queens College Immigrant Student Support Initiative:

The Queens College Immigrant Student Support Initiative would like to inform you of two amazing opportunities for students: a scholarship opportunity for undocumented students and a new opportunity for TheDream.US Scholars to participate in a paid internship funded by TheDream.US.

TheDream.US National Scholarship

TheDream.US National Scholarship application is live! The scholarship provides up to $33,000 in financial assistance for students pursuing a bachelor’s degree! 

TheDream.US National Scholarship application is open to undocumented immigrant students with or without DACA or TPS who came to the United States before the age of 16 and before November 1, 2017. Additional eligibility criteria include:

• Students must be or about to be high school graduates or GED recipients.
• Students must have been or are currently enrolled in a college or university.
• Students must exhibit significant unmet financial need.

TheDream.US Internship Funding Program 

Queens College Dream.US Scholars with a work permit or ITIN (DACA is not required) are eligible for this opportunity, allowing students to demonstrate their skills, explore career paths, and expand their professional network, all while getting paid! Students are eligible to receive payment in accordance with the number of hours they work at an estimated rate of $20 per hour. 

To participate in the program, scholars must meet the following criteria:

• be a current Queens College Dream.US Scholar
• be a currently enrolled Queens College student
• have a valid social security number (SSN) or an individual tax identification number (ITIN)
• have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher; and
• possess an unpaid internship that meets the following criteria: is scheduled to last between 40 and 200 hours, has a dedicated supervisor, is related to your academic goals.

If students meet the criteria and have documentation that they have secured an unpaid internship (i.e. offer letter, email from internship supervisor, etc.) they may apply for funding by completing this application form on Parker Dewey.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. However, students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible as funding is limited.
