CUNY Design Your City Program

During the Design Your City program, you will develop a proposal for a place-based solution to a real, built environment problem in your community. You will learn valuable skills, tools, and best practices used in community-centered planning, including how to research the community’s history, analyze different data sources, understand the stakeholder landscape, and build support for your idea. At the end of Design Your City, you will pitch your proposal to a panel of professionals – who may be able to help bring your idea to fruition. You will also create an online project portfolio that you can  include on your resume.
Throughout the program you’ll gain
  • An array of skills to add to your resume
  • A portfolio to link to on your resume
  • Exposure to a variety of civic focused career paths
  • Introductions to a vast network of professionals
