Graphic Design Fellowship–Storefront for Art & Architecture
Storefront for Art and Architecture seeks a Design Fellow to participate in a six-month graphic design fellowship at an organization dedicated to advancing innovative positions in art, architecture and design.
Schedule
The 2013-2014 Design Fellow will work 2-3 days per week for a duration of 6 months on design projects that include bolstering the organization’s graphic and web identity in line with the organization’s mission and with the direction of Storefront’s Chief Curator. This will range from print and electronic materials produced for the organization’s exhibitions, events, and competitions throughout the year.Under the guidance of the Communications and Curatorial teams and the organization’s Executive Director, Storefront’s Design Fellow will design Storefront’s historic Newsprints; publications/catalogues; print invitations; email templates, and web identity graphics; among other projects. The ideal candidate will have experience using HTML.
Requirements
Fellow must be available to work at least two full work days/week.
Non-U.S. citizens must possess a valid work visa for the entire fellowship period.
Applicants must possess an undergraduate or graduate degree in graphic design field or equivalent.
Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator software.
Knowledge of motion graphic applications and digital video editing.
Passion for and knowledge of issues related to contemporary design and architecture.
Successful applicants must have proficient communication and organizational skills and be able to meet tight deadlines.
Rigor and enthusiasm is strictly required.
Preferred
Proficiency in HTML language and code.
Background in architecture or art history.
Familiarity with Storefront’s history and mission.
Compensation $2,500
