UI/UX Designer

Peach Street is a fintech startup looking to redefine the homeownership experience – starting with how you pay your mortgage. We are a small team of engineers from Google, Facebook, Instagram, and Twilio who are using technology to improve the mortgage servicing experience for both homeowners and lenders. After raising a seed round from large venture and strategic investors, we’ve built our initial product and are about to close another round to accelerate our growth. We are looking for the first in-house UI/UX designer to work with Product and Engineering on a slick user experience to help homeowners understand and pay their mortgages.
Our design stack includes Sketch and Zeplin.
Responsibilities
● Work with Product to deliver high fidelity product UI mockups from defined Critical User Journeys
● Develop mocks for use by Front-End Engineers on mobile web, iOS and Android.
● Determine the usability of new and existing product flows and make actionable suggestions for improvement
Ideal Background
● 3+ years of product design experience building UI mocks or in UX optimization capacity.
● Strong communicator. Able to work cross-functionally to balance product and technical requirements.
● Experience with one or both of the following: web application design, mobile application design.
● Experience in a fast paced startup environment and know how to maximize the impact of your time.

Winter Advertising Internship

Queens College Design has obtained funding to provide 5 internships in creative departments of advertising agencies during winter session 2019. This internship program runs from January 2nd-23rd (M-F, Fridays are half days that meet in the morning at The One Club) and come with a paid, 1000 stipend and the option of academic credit as a graphic design elective. This program is a partnership with The One Club
To find out more, come to the Information Session on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 during free hour (12:10-1 pm) in Klapper Hall 107. We will discuss the program and application process. Yes, seniors graduating in Dec. 2019 are eligible to apply.

MOMA has a Spring 2020 Internship for all majors (Juniors through Recent Alumni) interested in an internship opportunity at the Museum. About the Seasonal Internship Program
The Seasonal Internship Program provides undergraduate and graduate students and beginning professionals with practical experience in a specific area of museum work at The Museum of Modern Art. In addition to departmental work, each Tuesday interns participate in professional development activities designed to increase understanding of the Museum’s various collections, exhibitions, and departments. The Museum hosts approximately 25 interns per season in just about every department. Participants may arrange for academic credit through their school, but it is certainly not a requirement.
The Museum of Modern Art Spring 2020 internships require a commitment of three days per week, one of which must be Tuesday. The schedule for the three days is 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. One must have a minimum of two years of college completed (or equivalent) by January 2020 in order to apply.

You will:
• Primarily focus on RFP creative requests and will be working closely with the VP, Creative

The Position

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2+ years relevant design experience at a high tech, product-driven company
  • Experience designing digital apps and systems, ideally in the SaaS/B2B space
  • A strong portfolio that showcases work, illustrating involvement in web-based projects
  • Well-versed in design principles, typography, layout, UX, UI, and interaction design necessary
  • Experience in creating wireframes, user flows, process flows and sitemaps
  • Proficient in Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite and prototyping tools (like InVision) is a must.  Abstract version control and Zeplin.io is a plus
  • Strong team player, yet simultaneously able to work on independent initiatives
