Who You Are

Justworks is seeking a Product Design Intern to join our passionate and growing product design team for Summer 2024. As a design intern you will have the opportunity to work with a cross-functional team alongside fellow Product Designers as well as Product Managers, Engineers and Product Marketers to gain imperative knowledge and grow your skill set. You will have the opportunity to contribute to projects and work on all points of the design process from discovery to prototyping to launching designs for Justworks users.

Your Success Profile

What You Will Work On

• Support projects from discovery to conceptualization to launch
• Support with user research to gain empathy and better understand our customers’ needs
• Validate solutions through rapid wireframing, prototyping and experimentation
• Share work and get real-time feedback in our weekly design team meetings
• Get 1:1 mentorship with a Product Designer
• Leverage our design system with consistency and efficiency in mind
• Work in an agile environment with your key stakeholders along with product, engineering, and design team
• Collaborate with product managers to identify and define product opportunities in partnership with your product design mentor
• Partner with engineers to deliver high quality experiences with guidance from your product design mentor
• Collaborate with other interns and participate in getting to know team members across the Justworks departments
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Currently an undergraduate with an interest in technology and design-related field
• Portfolio demonstrating a user-centered design process 
• Interest in problem solving and an ability to communicate the reasons behind your design decisions
• Appreciation for details, but also a desire to explore broad perspectives
• A passion for typography, information hierarchy, interaction design, and usability heuristics
• Awesome, humble, thoughtful, and interested in the quality of what ships to our customers
• Has a growth mindset, readiness to learn and open to collaborating with the team
• Experience with design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, and prototyping tools 

The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $33.65 to $33.65 per hour.

Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location.  Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
