Summer 2020 Internships at Gallagher and Associates

We are looking for enterprising students to join our New York office as part of our media team. Our studio predominantly focuses on digital interfaces and immersive media-driven projects. The backbone of the work that we do consists of exhibition design and museums, having recently opened projects such as the International Spy Museum in Washington D.C. and the Sazerac Cocktail House in New Orleans.

As an intern you are an excited designer, open to learning and creative dialogue with the ability to work collaboratively in a fluid studio environment. The internships will be composed of time working with our multidisciplinary teams in the office in order to get a sense of our overall process. 
Visual Design Intern
Qualified candidates should have:

  • A strong visual background with great sensitivity to typography and robust graphic design skills
  • An understanding of and interest in interaction design
  • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite programs
  • Motion and animation skills are a plus
  • Working knowledge of Sketch, prototyping tools such as Invision, Framer is a plus

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in studio brainstorms and creative conversations
  • Helping to refine and further develop visual concepts with the team 
  • The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced studio environment
  • Being an accountable and contributing member of the studio
  • Pushing personal creative growth and discovery

Motion Design Intern
Qualified candidates should have:

  • Experience working with After Effects and/or Cinema 4d.
  • A strong visual background with great sensitivity to typography and graphic design skills
  • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite programs
  • Working knowledge of other 3d softwares, Sketch, creative coding, prototyping tools and projection mapping is a plus.
  • Motivation to expand your skills in the intersection of physical and digital.

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in studio brainstorms and creative conversations
  • Helping to refine and further develop visual and animation concepts with the team 
  • The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced studio environment

Our internships are paid, and you will need work authorization for all positions:
You need to be able to work legally in the US:

  • For current international students, you are able to use CPT in order to legally work at Gallagher and Associates.
  • For all others, you should have an approved OPT in order to work at Gallagher and Associates.

UX Research Internship at Autodesk – Summer 2020

Wunderman Thompson is seeking creatively minded, data-loving interns to join our team in our New York office. Our 10-week, paid internship starts in June 2020 and will provide the opportunity to obtain unique experience at an award-winning agency. Interns will be placed across a variety of disciplines including (but not limited to): client services, data & analytics, project management, operations, strategy, creative, and experience design.
Who you are:

What you’ll need:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university with Junior or Senior standing for fall 2020, or a spring 2020 graduate.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Applicant must be able to work 40 hours per week during regular business hours throughout the 10-week Internship Program.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passionate about marketing and digital strategy, knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
  • Highly collaborative; team player.
  • Self-starter; able to juggle multiple projects at once.
  • Must complete both prompts (200 word maximum each). 

This program will run from June to August. Must be able to work in New York City and secure housing (Wunderman Thompson will not cover the cost of housing).

Paid Summer Internship at the Guggenheim Museum

Graphic Design

Graphic design is an integral part of the image of the museum. The Graphic Design department is responsible for the design and installation of the museum’s building and exhibition signage, as well as the design and production of various printed materials, including exhibition-related ephemera (e.g., invitations, educational guides, and direct mail), informational brochures, and publications for all museum departments. UI/UX Designer
Engineering | New York City
Peach Street is a fintech startup looking to redefine the homeownership experience – starting with how you pay your mortgage. We are a small team of engineers from Google, Facebook, Instagram, and Twilio who are using technology to improve the mortgage servicing experience for both homeowners and lenders. After raising a seed round from large venture and strategic investors, we’ve built our initial product and are about to close another round to accelerate our growth. We are looking for the first in-house UI/UX designer to work with Product and Engineering on a slick user experience to help homeowners understand and pay their mortgages.
Our design stack includes Sketch and Zeplin.
Responsibilities
● Work with Product to deliver high fidelity product UI mockups from defined Critical User Journeys
● Develop mocks for use by Front-End Engineers on mobile web, iOS and Android.
● Determine the usability of new and existing product flows and make actionable suggestions for improvement
Ideal Background
● 3+ years of product design experience building UI mocks or in UX optimization capacity.
● Strong communicator. Able to work cross-functionally to balance product and technical requirements.
● Experience with one or both of the following: web application design, mobile application design.
● Experience in a fast paced startup environment and know how to maximize the impact of your time.
