How to run “Hour of Code” training session

Long Island Women in Tech runs “Hour of Code” sessions for local students throughout the year. This gives students a great head-start into learning to code.

With CS Education week coming up in December, we’ll once again be running a “How To” session to teach you how to plan and run an Hour of Code. I’ll be presenting and sharing my lessons learned after teaching over 700 kids how to code.

The regional competition is sponsored by LIU and open to current graduate and undergraduate students at any accredited NYC-based institution.  Last year the competition categories included:

Last year, students that advanced past the Regionals to the statewide competition were eligible to win a grand prize valued at $100,000.

We are pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2018 Summer Internships in Parallel Computational Science.The application deadline for the 2018 SIParCS program is January 19, 2018, at 4 pm Mountain Time.
